Smiles

My sweet baby boy is ALL SMILES lately.  He started really smiling a few weeks ago... but now he is a smiling machine.  The mornings are my most favorite time of the day!!  Jax literally wakes up smiling and does not stop until we drop him off at Nana or Ande's house (ok, so he doesn't really stop when we drop him off... I just have to tell myself this so I am able to leave him ;) ha).  I have been trying to get some good pictures of him smiling for about 3 weeks... but that little stinker would STOP as soon as the camera or phone come out.  He still tones down the smiles when the camera is in sight but he is getting better and I have gotten some of the sweetest shots! 

 

He is also laughing, this just started in the last day of so.  Before then he would giggle randomly or in his sleep.  (I think he laughed in his sleep for the first time when he was 2 weeks old.  I was rocking him and he clearly laughed, Matt and I both were in the room to hear it).  Now, he will smile and laugh because he is happy.  I am attempting to catch this on video but it is hard.  Jackson will be cooing and laughing and as soon as we pull out the camera he is silent.  Nana and I did our BEST to catch it yesterday at lunch... please excuse how silly or crazy we sound!!  Its kinda long, but he gets going a little at the end.  We didn't get a good laugh, but ill keep trying.   

4 Months Old

My sweet little boy is 4 months old... when did that happen?!?!  November 7th was your 4 month birthday.  You have turned into the most smiley little guy in the last few weeks.  I actually have caught this on camera a few times... I say a few because as soon as I get out my camera, the smiling STOPS.  Jax, you are going to have to learn to get over this habit!!  Momma loves her some pictures, so no camera shy babies please!! ha. 

I said last month that you had really started "talking" and cooing to us... but I was wrong!!! Jax, you talk all the time now and I LOVE it!!  It is the sweetest thing I have ever heard.  You have such a sweet sounding voice and I could listen to you all day long. 

You are really starting to kick this reflux thing!  I don't want to jinx it, but your fussiness is almost completely gone and you are spitting up less and less!!  Im so glad that you are getting more comfortable and happy.  You are still on 30mg of prevacid and 2 tbs of rice cereal in your formula... we may go back down to 15 mg and see how that goes. 

Sleep... let me just brag on you.  You go to sleep around 9:30 or 10pm and sleep to at least 3:30 or 4am (today you slept til 5:45- WOW!!!).  You eat and go right back to sleep.  You are sleeping in your co-sleeper on your tummy for your long stretch.  Mommy LOVES to cuddle with you after your 4 o'clock feeding, its my favorite time!! 

Weight... your new nickname may be chunky monkey... because you are filling out so much and are SO DANG CUTE!!!  You weigh 15.5lbs.  Oh my goodness, that is more than your uncle Wade weighed at a year and mommy was only 16lbs at 1 year.  But you keep on gaining... I love my healthy big boy!!!  You are in the 50-60% in weight now and same with height.  You are 25 1/2 inches long and your head is in the 50% as well... your body is catching up (your head was in the 75% last month). 

I love you so so so much baby boy!!!  Starting in 2 weeks I will be working part time so we can have even more time together... more on that to come!!!

Jax's First Halloween

Happy Halloween!!!



This Monday was Jackson's first Halloween and we had the BEST time!!!  We started at Ande and Pape's- visited Nana and uncle Wade and then headed to the Bowens for the evening :)  Getting into Ashford was a challenge... it is the PLACE TO BE on Halloween!!  Cars, kids, parents, golf carts, trailers and hay rides everywhere... its going to be so much fun years to come!

The Bowens, Mallorys, Clays, McCurrys and Chambers all gathered to eat, hand out candy and celebrate.  We decided to take the kids out to "trick or treat" at The Dorsey's house and the Whites.  We thought they were all a little to young to get the concept and we didn't want people looking at us like we were crazy trick or treating with 3 month olds and 1 year olds!  So we thought visiting friends houses would be the best bet... we could still enjoy and get pictures (LOTS).

It was an adventure to say the least!!!  So fun!

We didn't quite make it to the White's house (too far and too cold). but the kiddos loved it, especially Addison and Caroline!  We even went to a few other houses on our way home... this poor man got to see us in full chaos mode!!  Ha, I'm surprised he didn't call DEFAX on us!  Luckily, we have an inside scoop on that thanks to aunt Lauren! 

 We all made it back in one piece and were able to enjoy some good food and fellowship!  We had yummy soup, snake sandwiches, dips, desserts... it was delicious!!  People were not too sure about my snake sandwiches but I have to say we didn't take any home so I guess they weren't too "gross" to eat ;) ha! 

I am beyond thankful for our amazing friends!!!  We are so incredibly lucky to have such an amazing group to experience these new adventures with!  I am looking forward to MANY more years of trick or treating with this gang!!!
